The Cleveland Guardians will continue to add young talent to their impressive farm system. That’s the best way they can keep up with the powerhouses in the game.
With that in mind, they’ll spend time scouting some of the most promising prospects in the Caribbean and South America. That’s why it’s not a surprise to learn that they’re keeping tabs on an elite outfield prospect.
According to Guardians Prospective, Cleveland is the favorite to sign Yhon Guerrero. A native of Cuba, he’s training at Chiqui Mejia Academy in the Dominican Republic.

They may not have to wait much longer before getting him on board. Like every international player of his age, he is eligible to sign with an MLB organization on the January 2026 signing day. That being said, he should almost be considered a lock to join the Guardians.
They could certainly use some firepower in the outfield. He’s not likely to be ready to make an impact in the majors for a long time, but he will certainly be a name to keep an eye on.
Everybody has to start somewhere. Maybe, fans will look back on this report and remember how one of the biggest names in the game took his first steps in professional baseball.
