The Cleveland Guardians’ offense is struggling to score more than two or three runs per game at the MLB level.
They have too many struggling hitters at the moment, and the organization’s patience has been tested in several cases.
On Sunday, they finally demoted Jhonkensy Noel after his ugly early-season slump.
Still, there is a lot of work to be done to make Cleveland’s offense respectable, let alone consistent and effective.
Meanwhile, one of their top prospects, Chase DeLauter, is slowly catching fire in Triple-A.
On Sunday, he had one of his best games of the season, logging three hits including a double.
“Chase DeLauter had himself a day! The @CleGuardians’ No. 2 prospect collects his first three-hit performance of the season for the Triple-A @CLBClippers,” MLB Pipeline posted on X.

DeLauter hit two singles and a two-bagger, scoring a run and driving in three in the impressive effort.
The sweet-swinging outfielder is recovering from sports hernia surgery performed in the spring.
He has played just 19 games between the Complex League and Columbus, so he is still getting his rhythm and swagger back.
Slowly, but surely, the talented lefty slugger is getting his feet under him after such a long absence.
He posted a 114 wRC+ in the Complex League and is up to a 110 wRC+ in Triple-A.
The Guardians likely want him to accumulate more at-bats before even considering a call-up to the majors, but he is getting there.
Fans are eager to see him, which is understandable given the team’s offensive struggles in MLB.
They see him as a savior.
To reach a point in which he is physically and mentally at his best, however, DeLauter might need a few more games in Columbus.
His time is coming, though.
