The Cleveland Guardians have been dealing with more than their fair share of injuries in recent days.
They recently got Lane Thomas back, only to see him get hurt again earlier this week, for example.
On Wednesday, one of the stars of the team had to leave the series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers with yet another injury.
“Steven Kwan exited with right wrist inflammation,” MLB.com’s Tim Stebbins posted on X.

The situation is worrisome because it’s Kwan, the catalyst of the lineup and the heart and soul of the clubhouse.
As we just witnessed with Thomas, a wrist injury has the potential to knock a player out of action for several weeks, depending on its severity.
Thomas was placed on the injured list with a bone bruise on his right wrist on April 22, retroactive to April 19, and returned on May 22.
The Guardians hope Kwan can return much sooner.
They will likely examine his wrist and send him for imaging in the upcoming hours to obtain a more concrete diagnosis.
Right now, there aren’t many details about the moment in which Kwan got hurt, but fantasy analyst Mike Kurland suggests it could have happened while swinging.
“Guardians’ Steven Kwan left today’s game injured and appeared to occur on this swing. You can see him shaking out his hand after this foul ball,” he observed.

The entire Guardians fan base is now holding their breath while they wait for a definitive update on Kwan’s condition.
Losing Kwan for a substantial period would be catastrophic for the offense and the outfield defense.
