The Cleveland Guardians can always count on their veteran star.
Jose Ramirez continues his streak of excellence, and he’s now joined a very exclusive club.
With one hit against the Los Angeles Dodgers, he’s now become a part of an exclusive club to record a base hit in 20 consecutive games, as pointed out by Luke Potosky on X:
“José Ramírez has the 50th 20+ game hit streak in CLE history. Jason Kipnis (20, 2015), Michael Brantley (22, 2012), Casey Blake (26, 2007), Marty Cordova (22, 2001) & Manny Ramirez (20, 2000) are the other CLE hitters w/ 20+ game streaks since 2000,” Potosky posted on X.

The third baseman also passed Joe Sewell for the fourth-most doubles in club history (376).
He also passed Jim Thome for the fifth most runs scored in Guardians’ history (929).
During this hot streak, Ramirez has posted a slash line of .387/.446/.667 with seven doubles, one triple, four home runs, and 11 RBIs.
Ramirez is also raking the baseball, with an average exit velocity of 90.5 mph, up from his season average of 88.5.
May 6 marked the last time Ramirez failed to get a base hit.
As of now, he trails only Kansas City Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. (22) for the longest hitting streak in Major League Baseball.
Unfortunately, the Guardians haven’t been up to his standard lately.
They’ve dropped three consecutive games after taking three in a row from the Detroit Tigers.
Stephen Vogt’s team has been streaky and has struggled with consistency this season.
That has definitely not been the case with their All-Star third baseman, who once again has established himself as one of the most consistent and reliable players in all of baseball.
It’ll be interesting to see how much longer he can ride this red-hot hitting streak.
