The Cleveland Guardians keep adding talent for the future.
Small-market teams are well aware of the need to add firepower through the farm system, as they’re not likely to beat out other teams in free agency.
Throughout the course of history, the Guardians have excelled in that kind of thing.
According to a report by Guardians Prospective on X, that was the case again with their latest move.
Apparently, they just signed RHP Juan Yan out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He’s currently training at Global Baseball Academy and will make his professional debut in the upcoming edition of the Dominican Summer League.
They gave him a $45,000 bonus.

At the time of writing, there’s not much information about the pitching prospect.
Even so, given the Guardians’ great eye for hurlers and top-notch development staff, there should be nothing to be worried about.
Granted, it’s one thing to be signed and another thing to actually make it to the Big Leagues, and it will take some hard work, luck, and health to fulfill his lifelong dream of joining The Big Show.
The Guardians take pride in their pitching, and he must have a special type of arm if they set their sights on him.
Like many young players, there’s not much to tell about him at this point in his development.
Hopefully, it won’t be long before we look back on this report and realize this signing may have been a breaking point in franchise history.
