The Cleveland Guardians have high hopes for Chase DeLauter.
The talented 23-year-old and No. 2 prospect in the organization has a bright future, but he’s struggled to stay on the field.
That’s why it’s such great news to hear that he’s trending in the right direction.
According to Guards Insider, he was activated and will join Triple-A Columbus.
The Cleveland Guardians Player Development System has announced the following moves for today:
Activate OF Nick Mitchell in Lynchburg.
Activate OF Chase DeLauter in Columbus.

The No. 16 pick in the 2022 MLB Draft will get back to action at some point in the next days.
The Guardians gave him an invite for Spring Training, and he was a candidate to start the season in the Majors.
Unfortunately, a sports hernia forced him to undergo surgery.
He’s also had an ACL injury, and durability will continue to be a major concern with him going forward.
He’s had multiple foot injuries as well.
Then again, he’s just too talented a hitter not to roll the dice on him.
He batted .520 with four homers and 10 RBI in 13 Cactus League games in the spring.
DeLauter didn’t suffer any setbacks in his brief stint at the AFL, serving as a designated hitter twice a week.
He hit .340 (16 for 47) with 11 RBI, five doubles, and one home run in the AFL.
DeLauter is an elite prospect and one of the most intriguing players in the minors right now, and given how much the Guardians need help in the outfield, it would make sense to call him up at some point this season, assuming he manages to stay healthy, which will perhaps be the biggest and only ‘if’ about him.
