The pivotal series between the Cleveland Guardians and the Minnesota Twins was supposed to start on Monday at Target Field.
It did, actually, but rain only allowed the two teams to play three innings.
They waited not one, but two different rain delays on Monday to try and get the game through, but it was impossible.
Then, on Tuesday, Cleveland and Minnesota hoped to resume their suspended game and then play the regularly scheduled contest 30 minutes later.
However, Mother Nature interfered.
Again.
The two squads announced the plan going forward, which includes a doubleheader on Wednesday.
At least, they will try, because the weather forecast isn’t promising in Minneapolis these days.
“Guardians-Twins rained out again. They’ll try to play 2 games tomorrow. 1:10 PM ET for the suspended game and then 30 minutes after that game ends, the next game,” Guardians reporter Justin Lada posted on X.

It will be Williams and Bibee

Per Joe Noga of Cleveland.com, the Guards will try to use their bullpen to finish Monday’s original game.
With that in mind, Kolby Allard and Jakob Junis are both options to pitch, and they are both capable of going multiple innings.
Gavin Williams will start the night game.
As for Tuesday’s suspended contest, Noga reports that it will be made up as part of a split doubleheader at Target Field beginning at 2:10 p.m. ET on Sept. 20.
Because of potential scheduling issues, the league will try its best to get both games through on Wednesday, but they will probably need to be patient.
Minnesota is up 2-1 after three frames, so in theory, the two teams will need to play at least an inning and a half of Monday’s game for it to be official.
The Guardians are 25-21, and the Twins are half a game ahead at 26-21.
