The Cleveland Guardians were set to host the Boston Red Sox in an exciting series opener at Progressive Field.
Cleveland took two of three games from the New York Yankees and was ready for Boston.
That will now have to wait, though, as the game was postponed.
“The Cleveland Guardians announced today’s game (April 25) against the Boston Red Sox has been postponed due to inclement weather and will be rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on Saturday, April 26, with the rescheduled game starting at 1:10 p.m. ET and the originally scheduled April 26 game starting at 6:10 p.m. ET,” the Guardians announced.
The Guardians have rearranged their pitching staff with the doubleheader in mind.
According to insider Zack Meisel, the two starters are set.
“Ben Lively will start Game 1 tomorrow. Doug Nikhazy will start Game 2, his MLB debut,” Meisel wrote on X.

Lively has been solid this year, with a 3.86 ERA in 25.2 innings.
He also has a 1.25 WHIP as a backend starter.
Nikhazy was recently called up to provide length.
He was ticketed for the bullpen, but circumstances have forced him to take the ball as a starter.
He has a 3.44 ERA for Triple-A Columbus in 18.1 innings, with 22 strikeouts and seven walks.
Gavin Williams, who dominated the Yankees in his last start, is expected to take the ball to finish the series against the Red Sox.
