The Cleveland Guardians are 1-1 to open the 2025 MLB season after winning the AL Central and reaching the ALCS last season, which has raised expectations for this year.
We are only a few days into the new season, so there is still time to fire off a few takes before the Guardians really get into the swing of things, and one former player recently had a big prediction to share about the team this season.
On a recent episode of the “Carlos Baerga Show,” Baerga said that he believes the Guardians are set to win it all.
“I think this year is gonna be very special, and I picked the Guardians to go all the way.”
Some high hopes for the Guardians this season on this week's episode of the @baergashow! #ForTheLand

He clarified that by all the way, he thinks the Guardians will reach the World Series, but he stopped short of saying they would actually win the World Series once they get there.
It’s a bold take with a ton of bias layered in there, but the American League is wide open unlike the National League.
The NL is top-heavy, with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, and Philadelphia Phillies all set to look like juggernauts, but in the AL, it’s a more even playing field, given the injuries and offseason losses the New York Yankees endured.
The Houston Astros also lost a few pivotal roster members, and the Baltimore Orioles are still trying to get their feet wet, given their youth and their lack of starting rotation depth.
The Guardians had a quiet offseason that frustrated many fans, given how close the team was to reaching the Fall Classic last season.
That being said, it’s still an incredibly talented team with some intriguing prospects potentially on the way to bolster the lineup at some point.
Maybe Baerga will be right.
