The Cleveland Guardians have some interesting young pieces.
Steven Kwan could end up taking over as the face of the franchise in the future.
However, they’re still Jose Ramirez’s team, and that will be the case until further notice.
At least, that’s how Harold Reynolds feels.
Talking on the MLB Network, the former player gushed about Ramirez and the Guardians for playing a good brand of baseball and as a unit.
“Jose Ramirez is the straw that stirs the drink,” Reynolds said.

However, he doesn’t understand how opposing teams still allow Ramirez to beat them all the time instead of just walking him more often.
He pointed out that Ramirez was close to logging 40 home runs, 40 doubles, and 40 stolen bases, even though his batting average was down last year.
Ramirez has been the face of the franchise for years now, and he’s still going strong.
Stephen Vogt recently hinted at bumping him up one spot in the lineup and having him hit second.
Per the manager, that will give him more RBI opportunities, as it also gives him around 30+ more plate appearances than what he gets right now at the three-hole.
The Guardians will need as much offensive production as they can get next season.
Replicating last year’s success as a team won’t be easy, but there’s no reason to believe Ramirez won’t be as good and consistent as he’s always been for at least another season.
