The Cleveland Guardians are about to embark on a key campaign in recent franchise history.
While many people continue to underestimate them even after their impressive 2024 season, the players and the coaching staff are quietly preparing to let their performance on the field talk.
The bullpen and its incredible depth will be, once again, the best unit on the team.
With relievers such as Hunter Gaddis, Cade Smith, Tim Herrin, Erik Sabrowski, Andrew Walters and Emmanuel Clase, do not forget about Trevor Stephan.
The right-hander, rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, recently was spotted throwing a bullpen session.
He won’t be ready for the start of the season but could be back at some point in the first half.
“People need to remember how good Stephan was before he had TJ surgery. Now add him to Clase, Smith, Gaddis, Herrin, Sewald, Walters, Sabrowski, Aleman and Enright …,” Guardians Prospective wrote on X.

In his three MLB seasons, Stephan has posted a 3.73 ERA with 232 strikeouts in 195.2 innings.
At his peak in 2022, he posted a 2.69 ERA and fanned 82 batters.
A healthy Stephan definitely belongs in any version of the Guardians bullpen.
It might not be on Opening Day, but he will make his return eventually and the Guardians will have yet another weapon at their disposal.
