Everybody knows that the Cleveland Guardians’ best unit last year was the bullpen.
That should still be the case in 2025, as the same foundation of names is returning.
The bullpen is led by four extremely talented arms, unofficially referred to by some as the “Four Horsemen.”
These are Emmanuel Clase, Cade Smith, Hunter Gaddis, and Tim Herrin.
They were all magnificent last year, and there is a stat that illustrates just how unique their accomplishments were.
“6 MLB pitchers pitched in at least 74 games during the regular season last year and had an ERA under 2.00. 4 of them were Cleveland Guardians. It was totally insane,” Codify Baseball posted on X.

Basically, six hurlers finished with an ERA under 2.00 in 2024 while also appearing in at least 74 games.
Two-thirds of that total were Guardians.
Clase made all kinds of history in the regular season, taking possession of multiple franchise records in saves and finishing with a crazy 0.61 ERA.
Smith should have been a top Rookie of the Year candidate and struck out 103 batters with a 1.91 ERA.
Herrin, the only lefty on the group, was virtually unhittable and returned a 1.92 ERA while Gaddis went from failed starter to dominant bullpen arm, delivering a 1.57 ERA.
The foursome will return to show the world that their dominance wasn’t just a thing of one season.
They are all here to stay, they are healthy, and they are hungry.
We could be about to witness another historic campaign from the ‘Four Horsemen.’
