The Cleveland Guardians won 92 games in 2024.
They took home the AL Central crown and won a postseason series against the Detroit Tigers.
All things considered, it was a highly successful year, one that brought with it many individual and collective achievements.
Jose Ramirez came up one home run shy of a 40-40 campaign and won a Silver Slugger award, Steven Kwan earned a Gold Glove, Stephen Vogt was the Manager of the Year in the American League, and so on.
You could say that, with the notable exception of Shane Bieber’s early-season injury, 2024 was close to the best-case scenario for Cleveland.
Some analysts, like Nick Pedone, believe that the Guardians are in for some natural regression.
“I feel like they are gonna have a little bit of natural regression. Last year they had so many players hit their stride at the perfect time that it was a dream season.” Pedone said.

Yes, the Guardians might be in for some regression.
They are here to stay, though, so even if that’s the case, they should be the favorites to win the AL Central again.
Even if the bullpen regresses a bit, it should be among the very best in baseball.
Even if Ramirez doesn’t come close to a 40-40 season like he did last year, he should be comfortably in the 30-30 range.
And they should be able to, at least, enjoy half a season of Bieber’s top-notch performance.
All things considered, the Guardians should remain a top contender even if they regress a bit.
