That’s why, after going unsigned again, the hurler took to X to claim that he was the second-most popular baseball player on Earth.

More than that, he also reported that he would be willing to play for free, which would equal a $50 million value contract for any organization.
Bauer stated that the lies about him led to this backlash.
Bauer’s legal situation was settled.
Both parties reached a settlement in his case.
Since being out of the league, he’s dominated in Japan and Mexico and become one of the most popular baseball players on social media.
Perhaps that’s why he claims to be the second-most popular baseball player behind only Shohei Ohtani.
Whether or not that is the case is not something we should decide.
