The Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League have several Cleveland Guardians prospects playing on their team: Kody Huff, Milan Tolentino, future star Chase DeLauter, and more.
Speaking of DeLauter, he was selected for the AFL Fall Stars Game because of his impressive performances at the plate.
Another Guardians prospect made the All-Star team, though.
“Cleveland #Guardians 23yr old RHP relief prospect Allan Hernandez has been selected to participate in the 2024 Arizona Fall League Fall-Stars game,” Guardians Prospective posted on X.

Actually, DeLauter won’t be attending the Fall Stars Game for undisclosed reasons, so Hernandez will be the lone Guardians representative.
The reliever has a 3.86 ERA and nine strikeouts in AFL action this year.
He topped out at High-A this season in the minors.
There, he posted a 2.83 ERA in 47.2 innings of work.
Hernandez is already 23 years old, so he is a bit old for his level.
He needs to climb up the ladder quickly, but in order to do that, he will need to overcome some control issues.
Yes, he displayed his strikeout stuff this year in High-A with 51, but his 30 walks tell the story of a pitcher with work to do.
The Guardians are one of the most patient organizations in MLB when it comes to prospects, so they will give him every chance to overcome his deficiencies and mature as a hurler.
The 2019 draftee will need to take a significant step forward in 2025, though.
For now, the organization is happy with his 2024 AFL performance.
2025 will be a crucial year for his development.
