The Cleveland Guardians may have unfortunately fallen just short of the World Series this season after succumbing to the New York Yankees in five games in the ALCS, but fans are still proud of what the team accomplished this year and are already looking forward to how they follow it up next season.
One of the reasons why the team was able to make it as far as it did was because of Lane Thomas, who came over to the Guardians following a trade deadline deal, and he recently revealed his honest thoughts about the city of Cleveland after spending a few months with his new squad.
Thomas posted a picture of him and his family on the field together with a caption saying, “Cleveland, thank you for making us feel at home.”

Thomas hit just .209 after being traded from the Washington Nationals, but delivered one of the biggest moments in Guardians playoff history when he hit a huge grand slam off of Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal in Game 5 of the ALDS to push his team into the ALCS.
Thomas is under contract for one more year before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2026, and Cleveland will be hoping he can hit a bit more like he did in 2023 when he posted 3.3 WAR due to his 28 homers and 86 RBIs.
The Guardians have an interesting offseason ahead of them and the time is now for the front office to make a push and invest in this roster to try to capture that ever-elusive World Series championship.
