The Cleveland Guardians have an underrated farm and a solid contingent of young, impact players already in MLB.
This make them a very healthy organization for the long haul, with sustainability in the form of cheap impact talent.
Everybody talks about Chase DeLauter, Kyle Manzardo, and Travis Bazzana, but the truth is that there are many hidden gems in the system.
One of them is catcher Kody Huff.
Picked in the seventh round of the 2022 MLB Draft, Huff completed his first season in the high minors in 2024, with the Akron RubberDucks of Double-A.
He is currently in the Arizona Fall League to help his development and give him more competitive games before he heads into the off-season, and is having a nice showing at the plate.

He is hitting .318 with a .782 OPS, four RBI and three stolen bases so far Surprise in the AFL.
In 98 games in Akron, Huff hit seven home runs and stole seven bags, showing a nice set of skills for a catcher.
It was his first year in Cleveland, as he was traded from Colorado for Cal Quantrill.
He was also above the league average offensively, with a .245/.340/.364 line that netted him a 107 wRC+.
He could be a slightly above-average hitting catcher with some pop and speed, and those have a future in MLB.
The Guardians don’t exactly have Adley Rutschman behind the plate so he could carve out a role for himself in the next year or two if he continues to develop.
So far, his performance has been raising eyebrows in Arizona.
