Games 3 and 4 of the American League Championship Series will take place on back-to-back nights Thursday and Friday.
The Cleveland Guardians are currently down 2-0 in the series, and they could potentially be facing a sweep in Friday’s game 4.
Matthew Boyd will start game 3 for the Guardians and 2nd-year pitcher Gavin Williams appears to be in line to start game 4.
Williams revealed his thoughts on facing this dangerous New York Yankees lineup.
“This opportunity doesn’t happen to a lot of people, and for them to trust me and give me the ball potentially for game 4, I’m feeling lucky,” Williams said.

Williams gives credit to the Yankees lineup for their ability to hit home runs, but he appears to have a game plan for that.
He explains that they will probably hit a home run here and there, but the key will be to keep players off the bases when that does happen.
Williams started 16 games for the Guardians in the regular season and had a record of 3 wins and 10 losses with a 4.86 earned run average and 79 strikeouts in 76.0 innings pitched.
A stat that could play into Williams’ favor is his 32 walks allowed in 76.0 innings pitched.
If his game plan is to keep the base paths clear as much as possible, then limiting the walks will be a key factor in the game.
The Guardians are seeking their first World Series appearance since 2016, and they will hope to get a win in game 3 on Thursday before Williams takes the mound in game 4 on Friday.
