The Cleveland Guardians couldn’t steal home-field advantage from the New York Yankees on Monday and Tuesday, losing both games and falling in a 0-2 hole in the American League Championship Series.
It hasn’t been an easy series for the Guards: their starters haven’t gone deep in games, their defense has been uncharacteristically sloppy, and they have had bouts of wildness that have resulted in Yankees runs.
However, there is still hope for the team.
Let’s not forget they won 92 games in the regular season for a reason.
They didn’t make it this far by coincidence or luck.
Their manager, Stephen Vogt, knows that there is still a chance and is trying to motivate his players through the power of words.
He delivered an important message in the post-game conference on Tuesday.
“We don’t quit”: What Stephen Vogt said after the Guardians lost ALCS Game 2,” Guardians Talk posted on X, with a link of a Cleveland.com article.

It’s important that Vogt’s players understand the message and go out to Progressive Field on Thursday ready to give everything they have, as if the series was 0-0.
All Cleveland needs to regain some life is one win on Game 3.
To achieve that, players must not give up and play on Thursday as if they are already defeated.
This is a team that already knows what it’s like to play with their backs against the wall.
They were down 2-1 to the Detroit Tigers in the Division Series, with the next win meaning they would be eliminated.
What did they do? They proceeded to win two straight to take the ALDS.
They still have some hope.
All they need, however, is a win on Thursday.
