The Cleveland Guardians are one of the best defensive clubs in MLB.
They have multiple impact fielders at several positions and this directly impacts the pitching staff positively.
We are getting closer to learning who are the winners of the prestigious Gold Glove awards in 2024, and there will be, as expected, several Guardians in contention.
“José Ramírez, Steven Kwan, Andrés Giménez, and Brayan Rocchio have all been named Gold Glove finalists,” the team announced via X.

Ramirez is a six-time All-Star and four-time Silver Slugger award winner.
However, there isn’t a Gold Glove in his cabinet yet, even though he is as solid as they come defensively.
This year, J-Ram accumulated six Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) and three Outs Above Average (OAA), two of the go-to advanced metrics to measure defensive ability.
Kwan is the premier defensive left fielder in MLB.
He is going for his third Gold Glove in three seasons, and has the numbers to back up his case:
He had 9 Defensive Runs Saved, +4 Outs Above Average and nine outfield assists this year.
Gimenez is also, like Kwan, the best defensive player in the league at his position, in this case second base.
He is a two-time Gold Glover (2022, 23) and a winner of the Platinum Glove award (2023), and is the favorite to get his third straight recognition.
Gimenez tied for the league lead with +20 OAA and led AL second basemen with 20 DRS.
He is a wizard with the glove and showcases his ability every day.
Rocchio, meanwhile, is nominated for the first time.
His 10 DRS and seven OAA give him a fighting chance.
Will the Guardians win four Gold Gloves on November 3?
