The Cleveland Guardians overcame a 2-1 American League Division Series deficit to the Detroit Tigers to win the series in game 5 on Saturday.
The 2 clutch wins were helped by their all-star outfielder Steven Kwan who was scorching hot in the series.
Kwan had 11 hits in the series, and he also became a part of Major League Baseball history in the process.
According to MLB Network on ‘X,’ Kwan is only the 3rd player in MLB history to have 3+ hits in 3 straight postseason games.

Kwan’s series stats include 11 hits in 21 at-bats with 1 double, 6 runs scored, 1 stolen base, 2 walks, and a 1.137 on-base plus slugging percentage.
He had 3 hits in games 3, 4, and 5, and joined only Tim Anderson and Lou Brock to have 3 hits in 3 consecutive playoff games.
In the regular season, Kwan batted .292 with 14 home runs, 44 runs batted in, and a .793 on-base plus slugging percentage.
Playoff teams want their players to peak at the right time, and so far, Kwan is doing just that.
The Guardians will likely need to put up some runs in the American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees if they want to advance to the World Series.
That will all start at the top of the order with Kwan as he hopes to continue his hot bat as the postseason continues.
Monday will be the start of the Guardians’ first American League Championship Series since 2016.
