Sunday was a great day to be a Cleveland Guardians fan.
The team beat the Pittsburgh Pirates and took the series behind a masterful performance by a valuable starter coming off the injured list in Alex Cobb.
Struggling infielder Andres Gimenez homered, and the recently called-up Kyle Manzardo, one of the future stars of this squad, went yard twice.
If that wasn’t enough, the best player on the team, Jose Ramirez, was celebrating the 11th anniversary of his big league debut.
It was back in 2013, when his offensive and all-around upside was nowhere near the level he is showing at the moment.
To get everybody going in the celebration, J-Ram hit a milestone home run.
“Jose hit his 250th career HR today. This was September 1st, 2013. His MLB debut 11 years ago today,” Ramirez’s agent Rafa Nieves posted on X on Sunday.

Ramirez will turn 32 in a few days and is listed at 5’9”, 190 pounds.
To say he has been able to hit 250 homers at the MLB level is amazing, and goes to show how much barrel control and sneaky power he packs in his relatively short frame.
Sunday’s blast was the 34th of his campaign, as he has led the Guardians to first place in the AL Central after five months of baseball.
If he continues his torrid pace, maybe he will one day reach 400 homers, perhaps even more.
He is the heart and soul of the Guards, and will be a team Hall of Famer from the moment he hangs up his cleats.
