Cleveland Guardians No. 1 pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, Travis Bazzana, is still adapting to life as a pro baseball player.
He was brilliant as the second baseman of Oregon State, but he is now facing much tougher competition in the minor leagues.
Bazzana, however, isn’t fazed by the level of competition he has encountered.
The Guardians assigned him to High-A Lake County, and he has done an amazing job overall.
He is, actually, in the middle of a hot streak at the moment, having gotten on base in each of his last 11 games.
He enjoyed a big game on Friday and keeps showing off his skills.
“#Guardians 21yr old (2B) prospect Travis Bazzana with a big game for Lake County tonight (3-4 3(2B) 2RBI) collecting three doubles against Great Lakes driving in a pair of runs. Bazzana extended his current on-base streak to 11 straight games. During streak: 11-40 12R 5(2B) 1HR 6RBI 10BB 3SB .275 AVG .442 OBP,” Guardians Prospective tweeted.

With just one home run in 12 games as a pro, the game power is yet to fully develop for Bazzana.
He has, however, five doubles, three stolen bases, and a 10/17 BB/K ratio over those 12 contests.
With time and more focus on his body, the home runs will start coming.
His swing is geared to hit for both average and power: let’s remember he hit 28 balls out of the park for Oregon State in just 60 games in the college season.
Even without the long balls, he is performing at an admirable level for Lake County, hitting a cool .256/.418/.442 with a .860 OPS.
For now, the doubles and walks are doing the heavy lifting.
When the homers start coming, watch out.
