CC Sabathia grew up in California and won his only World Series in New York, with the Yankees.
He also had one of the best second halves in recent memory in Milwaukee, with the Brewers, in 2008.
You can say with confidence that he became a man in Cleveland, though.
He also became a pitcher there, instead of a thrower.
On Saturday, Sabathia will become the newest member of the Cleveland Guardians Hall of Fame.
He spent the better part of the 2000s in Cleveland, from 2001 to 2008, won a Cy Young award, and became an ace.
He will get a nice opportunity to enjoy the love of thousands of Guardians fans on Saturday at Progressive Field, as he will be inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame in a pre-game ceremony.
The Guardians offered some details for those who want to stream the event live.
“Today’s the day we welcome @CC_Sabathia into the Guardians Hall of Fame. Our game is being broadcasted on FOX today, so the pregame ceremony will be streamed on cleguardians.com,” the team tweeted, with a graphic.

Per the graphic, the pre-game induction ceremony – one that will have many of Sabathia’s former teammates of those 2000s Guardians that made the playoffs multiple times and reached as far as the American League Championship Series in 2007 – will be at 6:30 pm ET.
Those who want to enjoy the ceremony will have to stream it from www.cleguardians.com.
It will be a special day for Sabathia, who has a soft spot for the city of Cleveland after years of giving it his best from the mound.
