The Cleveland Guardians have a competitive offense that has been fed by incredible contributions from a group of rookies, ranging from Daniel Schneemann and Jhonkensy Noel to Angel Martinez more recently.
Their bullpen is widely regarded as the best in baseball, with Emmanuel Clase being discussed as an AL Cy Young award candidate and a myriad of solid options for the late innings.
What they lack, however, is a proper rotation.
They do have talented hurlers on their staff, such as Tanner Bibee, Gavin Williams and Ben Lively.
Depth and quality, however, are major concerns now that Shane Bieber, Logan Allen, and Triston McKenzie are out of the picture, at least for now in the case of the last two.
A Cleveland sports media personality, Nick Pedone, reminded the world what the Guardians’ No. 1 priority is ahead of the deadline.
“I’ve been very busy these last few days but I wanted to pop on here and remind everyone that I’d really like the Guardians to trade for a starting pitcher. That is all,” he tweeted.

Of course, he said that on Thursday when the newest member of the rotation, Spencer Howard, got rocked for four runs in three innings in his first start as a Guardian.
He allowed seven hits and three walks in the process, striking out four.
Garrett Crochet, Erick Fedde, Cal Quantrill, Tyler Anderson and other top starters are expected to be available ahead of the July 30 trade deadline.
Any of them would slot right in Cleveland’s rotation.
It’s evident that an upgrade for the rotation is not only desirable, but also necessary.
