Wednesday was a solid day for the Cleveland Guardians.
They blanked the AL West leaders, the Seattle Mariners, 8-0.
Additionally, since the Kansas City Royals lost to the Oakland Athletics, they managed to improve their lead in the AL Central to 5.5 games, with the Minnesota Twins now holding second place.
It’s a good time to be a Guardians fan.
There were multiple heroes in Wednesday’s blowout: Tanner Bibee went six strong with 12 strikeouts, Steven Kwan went yard, and Jose Ramirez logged two hits.
However, Josh Naylor was the man of the hour last night, with not one, but two home runs to propel Cleveland’s win.
With the two blasts (he hit 801 feet worth of home runs, in case you were wondering), the first baseman reached 19 for the year and took the team lead ahead of Ramirez (18).
Not only that, but Naylor entered the top five in MLB in home runs thanks to his heroics on Wednesday.

New York Yankees star Aaron Judge leads the league with 26 round-trippers.
Gunnar Henderson is second with 22, and Shohei Ohtani and Marcell Ozuna are tied for third with 20.
Naylor tied Houston Astros slugger Kyle Tucker at the fifth spot with 19 dingers.
That should tell you everything you need to know about the kind of season the first baseman is having.
He started off the season on fire, then cooled off some in May, and is starting to catch fire again.
His overall numbers are very impressive: he is hitting .237/.322/.498 with 54 RBI and a .820 OPS.
If he manages to keep up his current power pace, Naylor is destined to finish 2024 with a career-high in home runs.
