Every time Cleveland Guardians superstar Jose Ramirez steps to the plate, the crowd knows that something may, and probably will, happen. Chicago White Sox’s fans at Rate Field witnessed the awakening of the beast, with three extra-base hits in two games, the third and the fourth of the AL Division Series, and then J-Ram’s own supporters at Progressive Field watched him hit the game-winning blast in Game 5 on Saturday.
If Ramirez didn’t have a good series, the Guardians had virtually no chance of besting the White Sox. When he was struggling in the first two matchups, Cleveland lost. When his bat got hot in the last three games, his team won.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as acknowledging that a single man is responsible for much of the team’s offensive production. It has been the case with Ramirez and the Guardians for years: he is, simply put, the heartbeat of the entire organization, and his own teammates will tell you that.
“When [Jose Ramirez’s] like he’s been right now, it’s been special. To be a part of those moments with him, and for him to have those moments, he’s so deserving of it. Like I’ve said before, he’s the heartbeat of this team. For us, surrounding performance like he’s had, we’re just doing our job. Everybody in the lineup, one through nine, when he’s swinging it like that, we’re just trying to find a way to get on base and let him do his thing,” Adell said.

After two ice-cold performances on Games 1 and 2, Ramirez turned things around near the end of the week and now leads the Guardians’ hitters with a 1.187 OPS in the 2026 Postseason. He also paces his squad with two home runs, seven RBI, five hits, six runs, and a stolen base.
Adell, who landed in Cleveland on deadline day back in early August, is simply witnessing what Guardians fans have seen for longer than a decade. He is witnessing a future Hall of Fame candidate overcoming a painful injury to lead his team when it matters most.
The deadline acquisition is also enjoying a productive October, with two key triples, six RBI, and a .838 OPS in five games. Together with Ramirez, they have given Cleveland steady and consistent offensive production in the playoffs.
