That kind of perspective has become a consistent theme from Vogt throughout the season, whether addressing a hot streak or a rough patch. His comments echoed similar sentiments from players like Travis Bazzana and Angel Martinez, both of whom downplayed the recent skid and expressed confidence in the team’s overall trajectory heading into the season’s final month.
The home and road splits remain a genuine oddity for a Cleveland team that has otherwise shown real signs of being one of the better clubs in baseball since the middle of August. With the Guardians still holding a game and a half lead over Toronto, Texas and Baltimore for the third and final wild card spot, figuring out how to translate their recent success on the road into more consistent results in front of their own fans could go a long way toward determining how this final stretch of the season unfolds.
