The Cleveland Guardians, leaders of the AL Central division, played their rubber match against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday afternoon at Progressive Field.
Cleveland took the opener on Monday, but the Tigers fought back and won Tuesday’s affair, 11-7.
Well, the Guardians were behind for most of the game on Wednesday, but a late reaction and a shocking walk-off sent everybody home with a W.
Cleveland crossed the plate twice in the second inning, but the Tigers scored four times in the fourth and took control of the game.
Or at least that was the impression.
The Guards were unable to put more runs on the scoreboard off right-hander Reese Olson, but once the bullpen entered the game, the script changed.
Cleveland scored once in the eight, once in the ninth (on a David Fry home run to tie the game), and once in the tenth to walk things off.
Here is a video of the winning hit, courtesy of shortstop Brayan Rocchio:

The game situation dictated that the Tigers had five infielders and just two outfielders.
Well, Rocchio sure hit it where they ain’t, like the old saying states.
He roped a line drive single to left-center field to win the ballgame for the Guards, who took the series against Detroit.
With the win, Cleveland is now 24-13 in the young season and are looking like a strong contender.
It was a thrilling ballgame for those in attendance and those watching from home.
It will surely be an unforgettable game for Rocchio.
