The Cleveland Guardians had another strong all-around performance on Saturday, taking care of business against the Oakland Athletics and winning 6-3 as they were able to win the first two games of the series.
Cleveland is now 15-6, and a recent post highlighted just how good of a start the Guardians are off to.
Cleveland Stats posted on X that the 15-6 start is the team’s best start since 1999 when the team went 97-65.

Losing ace Shane Bieber early on due to Tommy John surgery could have derailed this season before it even started, but the Guardians have rallied together and have the best record in the American League so far.
There are a number of players responsible for this historic start.
Steven Kwan is batting .374 so far, Josh Naylor has a 1.030 OPS, and Jose Ramirez has 18 RBIs despite an uncharacteristically low .655 OPS.
The rotation hasn’t been great so far outside of Carlos Carrasco, but the bullpen has been exceptional and is a reason why Cleveland is fourth in the league with a 3.08 team ERA.
The Guardians are in a good position to continue this hot start, as the upcoming schedule isn’t too difficult outside of a series with the Atlanta Braves looming.
They’ll need to get a few more members of the offense going, as Kwan and Naylor are the only two hitters with an OPS over .800.
In the division, the Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers are off to solid starts, while the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox are quickly playing themselves out of the race.
