The Cleveland Guardians are going to be active at the trade deadline. The question is not whether they make a move but what kind of move they make and who ends up in a Cleveland uniform before August 3rd. Cade Cracas has a name worth watching.
He identified a specific target he believes Cleveland should at least consider as the deadline conversation heats up, and the case he made for the Toronto Blue Jays reliever is a compelling one.
“I think that there’s a very good chance that Cleveland decides to make a blockbuster move as the deadline approaches. A guy that I have on my list right now that I want the Guardians to at least consider is former fourth-round selection back in 2018, Braydon Fisher. He’s a Toronto Blue Jays reliever. This season, he is just balling out. 2.55 ERA across 33 games,” Cracas said.

Fisher is 2-1 with a 2.78 ERA, 38 strikeouts, and a 1.037 WHIP across 34 appearances and 35.2 innings pitched in 2026. His career ERA sits at 2.73 across 85.2 innings, and he has been one of the more consistent relievers in the American League this season. For a Cleveland bullpen that has been asked to protect thin leads night after night during a stretch where the offense has averaged fewer than three runs per game, adding a reliable late-inning arm with those numbers would address one of the most pressing needs on the roster.
Fisher was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Clear Falls High School. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound right-hander has developed quickly into one of the more trusted arms in the Toronto bullpen.
The Blue Jays entered 2026 with playoff ambitions that have not materialized, and Toronto’s front office will face a decision as the deadline approaches about whether to be buyers or sellers. If the Jays conclude that their window has narrowed, Fisher would be among the most attractive pieces they could offer to a contender.
Cade Smith has been outstanding. The rest of the bullpen has been inconsistent. Adding a proven arm like Fisher with the ERA and strikeout numbers he has produced in 2026 would give Stephen Vogt a weapon he does not currently have, and it would do so without the kind of prospect cost that would compromise Cleveland’s long-term organizational depth.
