The Cleveland Guardians made a pair of roster moves on Sunday as the club looks to keep its pitching staff fresh heading into the next leg of the season.
The organization recalled left handed pitcher Logan Allen from Triple A Columbus while simultaneously designating right-handed pitcher Peyton Pallette for assignment, the team announced.

The move brings a familiar arm back into the fold. Allen, 27, has spent three seasons working his way through the Cleveland pitching picture and carries a 23-24 career record with a 4.48 ERA across 74 appearances and 73 starts covering 379.1 innings. He has punched out 320 batters during that stretch with a 1.445 WHIP, numbers that reflect a pitcher with the talent to compete at the big league level who has been trying to find the consistency needed to stick there for good.
This marks Allen’s third recall of the 2026 season.
His best season at the big league level came in 2023 when he posted a 3.81 ERA across 24 starts, showing the kind of promise that convinced the organization to keep investing in his development.
Pallette’s designation tells a different story. The 25 year old right hander from Little Rock, Arkansas arrived in Cleveland via the Rule 5 Draft in December, earning his first shot at big league baseball through that process. He appeared in 16 games in 2026, going 1-2 with a 5.23 ERA across 20.2 innings with 22 strikeouts and a 1.597 WHIP.
The Guardians enter Sunday’s series finale in Philadelphia having dropped Saturday’s game to fall to 31-23. The pitching staff has been the backbone of everything Cleveland has built this season, and keeping that group properly stocked with options is a priority that the front office has clearly not lost sight of.
Allen is back. The roster is right. Cleveland has a series to salvage on Sunday.
