The Cleveland Guardians are probably the hottest team in the American League.
In Monday’s home opener, they beat the Chicago White Sox and picked up their fifth win in a row.
Triston McKenzie got the win even though he wasn’t at his true best.
He managed to keep the White Sox scoreless for 5.2 innings, and then the Guardians relievers did the rest.
The offense also deserves a mention: they didn’t light the world on fire, but they managed to score four runs and log ten hits.
It was more than enough to win the game.
One of those hits had notable historical implications.
According to the team, Jose Ramirez’s two-run home run helped him become the man with the most dingers in franchise history as a third baseman.

He surpassed Al Rosen, who played for Cleveland for ten seasons between 1947 and 1956, with 174 long balls at the hot corner.
Rosen was part of the 1948 team that won the last World Series in franchise history.
He was a four-time All-Star and even a former AL MVP, in 1953.
Back to J-Ram, though.
In total, Ramirez has 218 career home runs, but not all of them have come while he defends his customary position on the infield.
20 of them have come as a second baseman, 17 as a designated hitter, and one as a pinch hitter.
He also hit three as a shortstop and three as a left fielder earlier in his career.
With each game, hit, home run, and stolen base, the star player keeps making history.
