It has been quite a week for Jose Ramirez.
After breaking the franchise record for games played against Kansas City, the Cleveland third baseman added another chapter to his legendary story on Saturday at Truist Park, becoming the first player in franchise history to hit a home run against every opponent in Major League Baseball as the Guardians shut out the Braves 6-0.
“José Ramírez has now homered vs. every opponent in MLB,” MLB posted on X.

The home run came in the first inning against Braves starter Martin Perez.
No player in the long history of this franchise, not Larry Doby, not Jim Thome, not Albert Belle, not Manny Ramirez, not even the immortals who built this organization into what it is, had ever accomplished that feat before Saturday night. Ramirez did it in Atlanta, on a road trip, in a game his team desperately needed after dropping the series opener by six runs.
That one swing was all Parker Messick needed.
The rookie left-hander was outstanding across six and two-thirds innings, scattering four Braves hits while striking out five and navigating his way out of legitimate trouble multiple times.

The bullpen handled the final innings, with Erik Sabrowski striking out a pair in the eighth and Shawn Armstrong escaping a ninth-inning jam to preserve the shutout.
Chase DeLauter drove in his 12th run of the season with an RBI double in the eighth.
The win snapped a five-game losing streak against Atlanta and improved Cleveland’s record to 9-6 heading into Sunday’s series finale against Chris Sale at Truist Park.
But the moment that will define Saturday night forever belongs to Ramirez. The first player in franchise history to homer against every team in baseball. A franchise record holder for games played. A player who chose Cleveland when he could have chosen anywhere else, and keeps finding ways to remind everyone why that decision was the right one.
Former player Mark DeRosa said earlier this week that Ramirez is getting a monument in Cleveland and a plaque in Cooperstown.
Weeks like this one make it very hard to argue with that.
