Hoskins is hitting .212 with three home runs, eight RBI, and an .831 OPS in 11 games so far this spring. While the batting average may not jump off the page, the power stands out, especially for a team looking to add more thump from the right side.
And when you look at his career, the track record is there.
Over his career, Hoskins has hit 186 home runs with 530 RBI and owns an .820 OPS across more than 3,100 at-bats. At his best, he has been one of the more consistent power hitters in the game, including multiple seasons with 25-plus home runs and strong on-base production.
After missing 2023 due to injury, Hoskins returned and combined for 38 home runs and 125 RBI across two seasons with Milwaukee, showing that his power has not disappeared.
Now, the focus shifts to how he will be used.
Whether he slots into the middle of the order regularly or rotates depending on matchups, his role will be one to watch as the season begins.
But one thing is clear.
What once felt like a possibility has now become reality.
And the Guardians are adding a proven power bat with a strong track record just in time for Opening Day.
