Nolan Jones had a somewhat disappointing season in his return to the Cleveland Guardians. The outfielder reached a career high in games played, but his overall offensive numbers declined.
The 27-year-old will enter spring training facing stiff competition for playing time, with some younger prospects ready to take on bigger roles. Before that, however, Jones has made a big change off the field.
Jones made a big personal announcement, as he has gotten married.
“Congratulations to Cleveland Guardians Nolan Jones, who got married today,” Guardians Prospective posted on X with a picture from the wedding.

Jones already had an eventful offseason, re-signing with the Guardians on a one-year contract worth $2 million. It was seen as a somewhat surprising move based on the troubles he had at the plate in 2025.
He batted just .211 with only five home runs. However, Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti said he believes Jones still has the potential to be a productive offensive player.
Jones believes that, too, and he admits last season did not go as he had hoped. He was traded by the Colorado Rockies in the final days of spring training, and that unexpected move may have had an effect on him.
Following his rookie season with Cleveland in 2022, he was traded to Colorado. He had a breakout year in 2023, batting .297 with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases, before a drop-off in 2024.
Now, Jones will be competing with rookies George Valera and Chase DeLauter for at-bats from the outfield. They are part of a projected Opening Day lineup that also includes infield prospect Travis Bazzana.
With C.J. Kayfus inserted at DH, that could leave limited opportunities for Jones, who played primarily in right field last season. He was a left fielder for the Rockies.
A high school prospect who was a second-round pick by Cleveland in the 2016 MLB Draft, Jones likely foresaw a long career with the organization, and vice versa. But now, on just a one-year deal and coming off a down season, this may be his final chance to stick with the Guardians.
Perhaps his good news off the field will help him on the field in 2026.
