The Cleveland Guardians just got another reason to hang on to Steven Kwan.
As expected, the All-Star outfielder won the Gold Glove again, and that has put him on an exclusive list.
“The only players in history to win Gold Gloves in each of their first four MLB seasons: Ichiro Suzuki, Nolan Arenado, and Steven Kwan,” Codify Baseball wrote on X.

Kwan is the type of player teams don’t trade. They build around them.
Unfortunately, that might not be the case for the Guardians.
Though he’s signed through the 2027 season on a very reasonable deal, Kwan is rightfully looking to get the lucrative contract extension he clearly deserves.
There have been few updates about the situation, and this award is likely only going to drive his asking price a little higher.
The fact that the Guardians chose not to trade him at this year’s deadline gave fans hope about a long-term deal.
So far, that hasn’t been the case.
Kwan is one of the best defensive players at his position, and he was Cleveland’s second-best offensive player as well, behind only third baseman Jose Ramirez.
The Guardians have a long history of moving on from their star players once they start getting too pricey.
While that approach has often infuriated fans, it’s hard to argue with the results, as the team has still managed to stay competitive more often than not.
