The Cleveland Guardians could’ve used a player like Ernie Clement this season, especially in the playoffs.
Instead, they had to watch him make the World Series with the Toronto Blue Jays.
As shown by FOX Sports, Clement made MLB postseason history in the Game 7 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Clement had three hits, pushing his 2025 postseason total to 30.
That broke the record held by Randy Arozarena, who had 29 hits for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2020.
Impressively, Clement did so in two fewer games (18) than his predecessor.
He had a 13-game hitting streak to close the playoffs, which is a Blue Jays postseason record.
Clement finished his first postseason trip with a .411 batting average, one home run and nine RBIs.
Unfortunately, just like Arozarena and the Rays, the Blue Jays and Clement lost to the Dodgers.
The third baseman almost gave Toronto a walk-off win hit in the bottom of the ninth, but his drive to left-center field was caught on the warning track.
The Guardians selected Clement in the fourth round of the 2017 MLB Draft but designated him for assignment in 2022.
After being claimed and released by the Oakland Athletics, he signed a minor league deal with Toronto.
He played a career-best 157 games this season while playing all four infield positions and finished with a .277 batting average, nine home runs and 50 RBIs.
