For years, the Cleveland Guardians have relied on Jose Ramirez.
He’s always gotten the job done, and more importantly, he’s been the type of player who leads by example, even if he’s not always the most vocal.
Notably, that’s why the fact that he called out the front office is so notable.
With that in mind, analyst Matt Fontana urged the team not to get on Ramirez’s bad side.
“I think a lot of people appreciate that Jose is going to start putting pressure on the organization. It just hurts because you feel like you could be one player away from it being a World Series-type thing. I don’t think it’s that easy, but you don’t want to be p****** off your star player,” Fontana said.

Ramirez is one of the greatest players in franchise history, and the third baseman might go down as the all-time best, at least statistically.
As such, it makes sense that the organization looks to do right by him.
He put the baseball world on notice when he admitted that he took a hometown discount because the front office promised him that it would spend that leftover money to get him some help, and that hasn’t been the case.
Of course, it’s hard to believe he’s going to force his way out of Cleveland at this point in his career.
But he’s not the type of player a team wants to infuriate.
He’s given everything over his 13 seasons, and he’s never complained publicly until now.
The Guardians aren’t that far from being a legitimate World Series contender, and not doing everything in their power to help their superstar win a championship will be a disservice to his greatness.
