The Cleveland Guardians’ season is over, but their work never ends.
If anything, this is when the front office might be the busiest.
Of course, that includes their scouting department.
Given their long track record of success in finding and developing young stars, especially middle infielders, it’s not much of a surprise to see multiple prospects eager to join the system.
Guardians Prospective recently reported that the Guardians are the favorites to sign switch-hitting shortstop prospect Sebastian Torres.
Cleveland #Guardians are favorites to sign switch-hitting (SS) prospect Sebastian Torres out of Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Torres trains out of Alex Salazar Academy.

A native of Venezuela, he’s training at Alex Salazar Academy and won’t be eligible to sign until the 2028 international signing day.
Switch-hitting prospects are highly coveted, especially those who play a prime defensive position.
The franchise has a long history of elite middle infielders, and Torres could become the next on that impressive list.
Granted, he will face some steep competition to not only make the roster, but even crack the top 10 in terms of prospects within the organization.
Cleveland has a plethora of young talent in its development system, and most prospects never even get to the major leagues.
Hopefully, Torres will make an MLB roster someday, be it with the Guardians or another team.
If the Guardians do sign him and then trade him, he could give them some valuable players in return.
