When it comes to finding middle infielders, the Cleveland Guardians might be either the best or one of the best teams in all of professional baseball.
They are always looking to add young talent at shortstop and second base.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that they’ve set their sights on yet another shortstop.
According to a report by Guardians Prospective on X, they’re currently leading the race to sign shortstop prospect Javier Amigo.
He’s a native of San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, and he’s currently training at Fortuna Training Facility.
However, just like with many of the other prospects we’ve covered in recent months, he won’t be eligible to sign with the team until the 1/15/28 International signing day.

It’s hard to think of a better team to sign with if you want to play shortstop in Major League Baseball.
The Guardians’ farm system is one of the best in the game, not only in terms of talent but also in regard to player development.
Additionally, with the front office often choosing to part ways with star players as soon as they become too expensive, it seems like there’s always room for some young talent to showcase their skills.
Of course, that’s not to say that Amigo will be a sure thing to be a star or even play for the Guardians.
There are numerous hurdles to overcome first, and numerous factors can significantly impact whether a player succeeds or not.
