The Cleveland Guardians haven’t exactly had a busy offseason.
They are trying to improve their overall roster and their offense, but sometimes, these things take time.
In any case, the Guardians’ Twitter account has kept fans busy and entertained by publishing some of the best moments of the 2023 campaign.
Without a doubt, one of those golden moments fans will forever remember was Terry Francona’s last game at home, at Progressive Field.
Even though Francona didn’t exactly announce his retirement as manager, everybody knew this would be his last season.
He has suffered a few health scares through the years and it was time to go home and enjoy some time off.
Of course, that game at Progressive Field represented an emotional time for him, his family, and fans in Cleveland.
“We said goodbye to a Hall of Fame manager, and the winningest manager in our franchise’s history this year. Tito’s last home game will send chills up your spine,” the team tweeted.

Francona has been managing in MLB since 1997.
He won two World Series with the Boston Red Sox in the 2000s, and joined the Guardians in 2013.
In Cleveland, he became the winningest manager in franchise history and took them to the 2016 World Series.
With some better luck, he probably would have led the Guards to the title, but it wasn’t meant to be.
Still, fans love him and are forever grateful for his contributions.
With him as the skipper, the Guardians were always competitive.
That day, the city of Cleveland was able to say goodbye to one of the most influential people in the city’s sports landscape.
Players embraced in a hug with him, and he tipped his cap and waved to fans.
It was a magical moment.
