The Cleveland Guardians are your new AL Central division leaders.
They took down the Detroit Tigers as big underdogs, taking down Tarik Skubal for a 5-2 win.
Following the game, utility Daniel Schneemann raved about the team and the way they’ve been able to rally together:
“We’re having a lot of fun, just trying to keep the momentum going. We all believe in each other. We’re trying to take it one game at a time. Play our brand of baseball. We always know our pitchers are going to keep a lot of runs off the board, so we know if we scrape a couple across, we’re going to win a lot of games,” Schneemann said.

It was almost impossible to think that the Guardians were going to make the playoffs this season.
They failed to win 10 games in June, and losing Emmanuel Clase would’ve been a lethal blow to multiple teams.
Fast forward to today, and they’re not only a playoff team, but they’ve managed to avoid the wild-card scenario.
Of course, there’s still plenty of baseball left to be played this season, so they won’t have a lot of time to celebrate what they did on Tuesday night.
If anything, they have to regroup and get back to work right away, knowing that they still have two more games to win in this series.
The Tigers’ collapse in the second half of the season gave Stephen Vogt’s team a big helping hand.
The Guardians never stopped pushing, fighting, and believing.
They took care of their own business while their biggest postseason rival crumbled under pressure.
Taking the next two games will be crucial to the team’s postseason aspirations.
And even if they fail to win the series, they will still be in a prime position to close out the season with a postseason berth, and they deserve all the credit in the world for that.
