It’s not a secret that the Cleveland Guardians don’t have the most powerful offense in baseball.
In fact, they ranked last in MLB in home runs this past season and often struggle to consistently produce runs.
Yet, they should be open to listening to trade offers and proposals for all of their players.
That doesn’t mean they will trade them: listening is one thing, and actually going through with a trade is a completely different one.
Having said this, recent reports have MLB teams asking the Guardians about one of their best hitters: Josh Naylor.
According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, and Pittsburgh Pirates are interested in the slugger.

The free agent market had, and still has, plenty of quality pitchers available.
However, there doesn’t appear to be many quality hitters available.
This has caused lots of teams to shift to the trade market: the New York Yankees have traded for Juan Soto, for example.
Naylor could provide another alternative for those contending teams looking for some thump.
There is a problem, though: Cleveland would have to be really overwhelmed by an offer for a trade to occur.
They can’t afford to be giving away offensive pieces, and Naylor was good enough for 31 doubles, 17 home runs, 97 RBI, and a career-best .842 OPS in 2023.
Considering the current state of the Guardians offense, those numbers were excellent.
Cleveland might be listening, but the offer would need to be a clear overpay for them to consider making a move.
In all likelihood, Naylor is staying in Cleveland.
