The Cleveland Guardians can’t afford to keep losing.
They need to find some consistency, meaning all their players need to be at their best to keep their postseason hopes alive.
That’s why it might be time to bench Gabriel Arias.
As shown by Guardians Prospective on X, the middle infielder is going through a massive slump.
He’s 2-for-19 in his past six games (.105), striking out 13 times.
Gabriel Arias is currently (2-19) hitting .105 with 13 strikeouts over his last six games.
Arias was struggling before his last six games but he seems to be regressing even more as the strikeouts have come fast and furious of late.

Arias is chasing and often falling behind in the count.
Of course, that might be a byproduct of his situation, as he’s trying to do too much at the plate to compensate.
Granted, Arias deserves the benefit of the doubt after impressing with some clutch hits as one of the best on the team with runners in scoring position.
However, that was before this slump.
Arias needs to prove that he belongs in the lineup, and with infielders Brayan Rocchio and Travis Bazzana being big parts of the organization’s future, the clock might be ticking.
Cleveland just ended a six-game losing streak but didn’t do it with offense.
They defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 behind another impressive start from rookie Parker Messick.
The offense as a whole is still struggling, and Arias hasn’t done much to help the cause.
The Guardians recently failed to score in 28 consecutive innings, and they did not score in the final eight innings of their latest victory.
