The Cleveland Guardians are struggling at the worst possible time.
The Tampa Bay Rays dominated them with a 9-0 win at Progressive Field, and starting pitcher Tanner Bibee looked quite emotional.
The broadcast caught Bibee yelling as he entered the dugout, and he was visibly frustrated by another subpar outing.
With that in mind, franchise legend Carlos Baerga shared a piece of advice for him.
“I was watching (Atlanta Braves pitcher) Spencer Strider. He’s still throwing 98-99 [mph], and he’s been getting killed, like, unbelievable. I read that he was talking about he doesn’t know what to do, so you need to watch yourself. You need to know where you’re putting the ball. If the target is on the outside and you’re throwing it down the middle, you’re gonna get hit,” Baerga said.

Baerga knows what Bibee is capable of when he’s at his best.
He was expected to be the team’s ace without Shane Bieber, and he looked up to the task at times.
This has been a tough stretch to endure for the organization, and it may have gotten to him.
Bibee pitched six innings against the Rays and gave up eight hits, five runs, two home runs and three walks while striking out just three hitters.
His ERA is up to 4.73 for the season, and he hasn’t looked sharp lately.
The Guardians have lost six in a row and 11 of their past 14 games.
They’ve also failed to score in 28 consecutive innings.
That’s not all on Bibee, of course, and everybody needs to do their part, but this team needs him to get it together for the most crucial stretch of the campaign.
