The Cleveland Guardians may not be doing well right now.
However, Stephen Vogt still deserves plenty of credit for the work he’s done.
He’s made sure to keep the team afloat and with their heads up, even in the darkest times.
Talking on the “Object of the Game” podcast, Guardians executive Bob DiBiasio had nothing but positive things to say about the former player-turned manager.
“The leadership of Stephen Vogt and his coaching staff to keep this team focused and have the players be resilient, for a young manager, he was built to be a big league manager,” DiBiasio said.
The leadership ability from Steven Vogt has kept the #Guardians afloat all season long. #GuardsBall

Vogt has had to navigate some tough situations this season.
From a 10-game losing streak to losing two key pitchers due to a sports gambling investigation, the Guardians have had to endure a lot to stay in the AL playoff race.
It hasn’t been easy, yet he’s always had his players’ backs, and while he’s held them accountable when the effort hasn’t been there, he’s made sure to let them know that he has the utmost confidence in them.
Of course, he’s made some questionable decisions, just like any manager in a long season, but he’s also made some moves that helped the team keep its postseason hopes alive.
Dealing with egos is never easy, and that’s especially true when things aren’t going your way.
The Guardians will finish out the season with no margin for error and a lot of outside pressure.
That will be yet another challenge for Vogt.
But so far, he’s aced those tasks in his two seasons as a manager.
