The Cleveland Guardians are going through their roughest patch of the MLB season.
They can’t seem to score a run, and those offensive woes have them in danger of missing the playoffs.
However, as tough as things seem right now, there’s still a chance to turn things around.
At least, that’s how Carlos Baerga feels.
He argued that the Guardians should keep both Gabriel Arias and Brayan Rocchio on the field once Arias returns from the injured list.
“Everything’s going to be OK. I believe in our team. We are going to be OK. When Arias comes back, if I’m the Cleveland Guardians, you know what I’d do? If Rocchio steps up his game and brings it up again like last year, I’d keep Arias [at] shortstop, and I’d let Rocchio play second base,” Baerga said.
How about we turn this season around right now? #GuardsBall

The former infielder said Rocchio can be a steady contributor to the offense, so he encouraged manager Stephen Vogt to keep him around as the starting second baseman, while Arias takes the field at shortstop when he recovers from his ankle injury.
The team needs to do something.
Clearly, things aren’t going well with the way they’re playing.
The Guardians were never going to be a team that would hit its way into the playoffs, but they’re now in the bottom five in most offensive categories.
That’s unsustainable, and not even a stellar set of pitchers would be able to single-handedly carry this team.
Hopefully, the front office won’t approach the trade deadline as a panic sale.
Despite many shortcomings and flaws, the Guardians are not that far behind in the race for an AL Wild Card.
Teams can get hot when it matters the most, and while this group needs a spark, it’s too early to give up.
