Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez will be starting the upcoming All-Star Game for the American League.
Ramirez won the vote in the final phase and will join a talented infield that includes Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Gleyber Torres and rookie Jacob Wilson.
With this latest selection, “J-Ram” is now one short of tying the franchise record held by a true legend.
“Ho hum, Jose Ramirez will be the starting third baseman for the American League All-Star team. It’s his seventh All-Star Game selection and his fourth start. He’s one All-Star nod from tying Bob Feller’s franchise record,” Guardians insider Zack Meisel posted on X.

Feller was an All-Star from 1938 to 1941, from 1946 to 1948, and in 1950.
Ramirez has been chosen for the Midsummer Classic in 2017 and 18 and from 2021 to 2025.
This year’s game will be held on July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta.
The dynamic infielder might be 32 years old, but he remains one of the very best players in the game.
He is slashing a robust .301/.363/.487 with 13 home runs, 21 stolen bases, 43 runs scored, 38 RBIs, a 136 wRC+ and a 3.1 WAR.
It hasn’t been Cleveland’s best year from a run production standpoint, but at least it has Ramirez to keep it afloat.
Without him, the lineup would probably be dead last in runs scored, wRC+ and other offensive metrics.
He is a true difference-maker and comfortably the best player on the team.
