Cleveland Guardians’ right-hander Nic Enright notched his first win of the 2025 season on Wednesday with a solid outing vs. the Toronto Blue Jays, and lowered his ERA to a brilliant 2.08 in the process.
However, the Guardians need as many fresh arms as they can have, so they made a decision.
They are sending down Enright to Triple-A Columbus, and calling up right-hander Zak Kent to Cleveland.

Kent has been a serviceable arm for Cleveland in the limited opportunities he has gotten so far this year.
He is sporting a 5.40 ERA in five innings, but his 2.47 FIP and six strikeouts paint a better picture of his deserved outcomes.
Kent has been a good find by the front office.
He was actually acquired from the Texas Rangers in exchange for international bonus pool money back in March 2024.
Since then, he has been up and down between Triple-A and the majors, contributing whenever he has had a chance.
He has been pitching well in Columbus, too, with a 1.80 ERA in 25 frames this year in a tough, hitting-friendly environment.
Kent can give the Guardians some length in the upcoming games.
He has performed well in the limited chances he has gotten in the 2025 campaign, so the team keeps trusting him with occasional MLB innings when they need fresh pitchers.
Even after being up and down several times this year, Kent still has a minor league option left, so it will likely be more of the same for him in the future.
Each day presents a new opportunity, though, and right now, he is on the roster for the afternoon game on Thursday against the Blue Jays.
